While Bernard is questioning Luke about Caleb, Luke tries to flee, but Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson) helps Bernard to stop him. In doing so, Bernard rips Luke’s shirt, and sees some sort of clothing underneath his shirt with markings on it, leading to some suspicion.

From Season 19, Episode 3: "Lost Boys"
An investigation into the death of a 17-year-old boy leads Lupo and Bernard into the world of a fundamentalist Mormon sect, its polygamist leader, and one of his wives who is trying to get away from him.

This is the official YouTube channel for Law & Order. Watch all of the official clips from the series, some of the best moments from within the criminal justice system, where the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The police, who investigate crime, and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders.

If the part about Bernard being black wasn't enough to unnenerve Luke, wonder what his reaction would have been if he found out Bernard's a Catholic.

Well this is surprising! If L&O had continued past season 20, these two would have continued to be an awesome pair for many years. I love how they're tight like that.

Ik we always talk about Briscoe and Logan and how they're a good duo, but Lupo and Bernard aren't bad either

To those who didn't watch the whole episode but wants to know the whole story:

- The kid who attempted to run away at the end is not important.
- These kids used to belong to a fundamentalist sect of the mormon church who practices polygamy and were casted out for various reasons. The blond guy had a relationship with one of the leader's wives so he was casted out.
- The leader of their church is an old guy and the wife is really young probably 20 years old, the blond guy is older than her by one year. She was forced to marry the leader at the age of 16 and have children.
- The girl ran away because she couldn't take it anymore and wanted a life of freedom but was forced to leave her children behind.
- The kid who got killed attempted to bring the girl back to the leader in exchange for being allowed back into the community. The blond guy and the dead guy fought each other which resulted in the death of the traitor.
- The leader attempts to force the girl to come back to him through legal means. In the end she goes back with him because she is pregnant with the leader's child because she has no support and the blond guy who tried to help her goes to jail for murder.

Very very sad story overall and very infuriating. In my opinion no justice was done in this episode.

Anthony Anderson is great with comedy, but I would love to see him do more serious character roles. He has an intensity about him that makes him really intimidating.

Edit: Yes I have seen him in The Shield. My point is that I would like to see him do more roles like that. I know he is busy with Black-ish, but it would still be cool to see him do serious character roles again.

The beginning of Season 19 was one of the strongest stretches of Law & Order. I'll die on that hill.

Lupo and Bernard were the dynamic duo of the late 2000s!

You know something's 'off' when a guy buttons his collar button but doesn't wear a tie...

I wouldn't want to talk to him either, he seems like the type that would abandon a little girl in an elevator.

A friend I knew years ago was from a farming community in I think Wyoming, when he came to Cali for the first time he told me he had never talked to a black person before and only spoke to Mexicans who worked on the farms
I looked at him and said "well, a Puerto Rican must blow your mind"

Eh it’s season 19, at least they’re posting new content on the channel instead of the same two svu seasons and 13 and 14 of L&O
