I love these categories!! Whimsical, historical and murder and definitely the kinds of books I gravitate toward in the fall too☺️ I always hear the best things about The Bear and the Nightingale, I need to add that to my TBR for the end of the year. Hamnet sounds beautiful, I love a book that can make me cry!!!

I have read Halloween Party by Agatha Christie - I think that would be perfect for Autumn

If you’re craving more of the Brontës, I say read Cat Valente’s The Glass Town Game. If We Were Villains feels super autumnal to me: academia, murder, Shakespeare, & sobering atmosphere.

Such an amazing video and perfect recommendations! I’ve read every one except the last one you mentioned. I feel you might like Tilly and the Bookwanderers if you haven’t read it already! X

Love these. Autumn is the best reading month!

You should read Robert MacFarlane’s favourite book, The Living Mountain by Nan Shepard. I would recommend the edition with an introduction by Robert MacFarlane and a closing essay by Jeanette Winterson. It’s a wonderful piece of nature writing set in Scotland’s Cairngorm mountains.

I’ve not read The Essex Serpent, but your description reminds me of a book that I recently really enjoyed: West by Carys Davies. It’s quite a short book at only 150 pages, so it’s great to read in one sitting on a cosy, rainy day.
