Although the stats may not show it, Shards of Alara is the most impactful set imo. It was the original "Commander Legends" with the set and block containing some of the most popular commanders for its time and helping to catapult commander to where it is today.

In terms of the triome's from New Capenna I remember I got 4 triomes in the prerelease, one game I drew all four and had to cycle 3 of them because I drew too many lands, that was both really funny and upsetting

Worth adding as honorable mentions, in my opinion: Ice Age - Necropotence, Dark Ritual, Pyroblast, Hydroblast, Counterspell, Brainstorm, Mystic Remora, allied pain lands, Demonic Consultation, snow lands. Modern Horizons - Urza, Yawgmoth, enemy canopy lands, Prismatic Vista, Wrenn and Six, Serra, First Sliver. Zendikar: enemy fetch lands, Ascensions, JTMS, Ulamog, full art basic lands, Valakut... lots of impactful sets out there in the "pre-Commander design" era of 1993 - 2018.

Eldraine isn't just the most popular commander set, it might just be the most impactful set in magic history, or at least the most pushed. A lot of that for 60 card formats is thanks to the Adventure cards & Oko of course, but still.

Looking at my decklists and realizing half of the cards I play come from these 10 sets lmao
I still remember Eldraine dropping and everybody at my LGS absolutely losing their shit at Arcane Signet.

for reprint standards it was domnaria remastered

they threw us the biggest surprise ever this was the first masters set in years they finally got right the price is amazingly not obnoxious like the other master sets many amazing reprints they added 12 more packs

and all of that made many many many staples and not so played so much more affordable infact a majority of the jank cards in domnaria remastered were all overprice and now very affordable for budget players the easiest example is Aboria it was a $25 card before the now its like 35 cents

The commanders from Eldraine and Arcane signet were designed for brawl. If you don't count specific commander sets, you might as well skip the brawl decks

Number 0 on this list would be *Legends.* Simply because that was where the original Legendary Creatures came from, including the Dragons that EDH was named after. Legends is the set where Commander was born.

I get the feeling with the steady decline of Standard within MtG, Wizard wants to push Commander as their main target for card design

Golos was banned sept 2021 and edhrec pulls deck data for decks up to 2 years ago. So it would make sense golos still has a substantial amount of decks for it

I wonder if throne of Eldraine would shift at all if you took away data from the Brawl precons. That would include those 3 color commanders and arcane signet. At least I don’t think any of them could show up in draft boosters?
