This is the first time I’ve seen AI video that felt REAL. The big challenge of even the best versions so far has been keeping visual consistency. But now?

It does still mess up in funny ways: In a few clips, it creates extra arms and puppies out of thin air. But… wow.

I’m obviously imagining all kind of things that can go wrong with creating video of ANYTHING in seconds. But I’m also imagining the kind of creativity this could unlock.

I am imagining … this whole generative AI thing could be the beginning of the end of social media. Since you don‘t actually meet the people over social media but are only communicating using text and videos, you can‘t know anymore whether the other person is a human being. Talking with a machine instead is meaningless in terms of ‚social‘.

I feel like AI is at a point where scientists, engineers, and governments need to sit down and establish ethical rules and restrictions on it. I know it's cool and all, but the amount of bad things people could do with this really warrants getting the jump on things.

Imo there's nothing about "unlocking creativity" behind putting some words together and having a computer do all the work for you, that's the complete opposite of creativity. Having a nice idea is like 1% of what art actually is, the rest is making it
