I absolutely love the Soviet boxers. GGG, Bivol, Beterbiev, Lomachenko, Usyk, Janibek. They are so skilled

The biggest difference with bivol compared to any other boxer I have ever witnessed is his ego, it does not exist, he knows precisely when to step it up and slow it down, he doesn't listen to noise from his opponent nor from boxing fans. He simply reserves everything with his body and mind. Every time I have seen an opponent try to put on a lot of pressure and attack, he comes back x 2 and instantly stops them from even having the psychological edge that they can make him feel uncomfortable. This takes much more than elite skills it takes a very strong mind. When other boxers are looking for weakness and trying to expose other boxers, bivol is only focused on his strengths, that is why he is different to anyone currently in the boxing world.

“Initially his parents envisioned a different path for him, emphasizing academics.”

Not just initially. The man is a university graduate with a law degree. He can literally go practice law tomorrow if he wanted to.

How can one not respect and admire this champ. No drugs, sex parties, tattoos, trash talk. Just a humble, likeable guy with iron discipline and mental strength. I believe he beats Beterbiev come June 1st🏆 Thanks for the upload🙏

A musical term that I think applies here is articulation. This fighter has some of the cleanest technique I think I have ever seen.

Very interesting video! The Soviet style of boxing was characterized by high technique, a strategic approach, and an emphasis on collective training. Boxers in the Soviet Union were trained in a system that combined elements of classical technique and modern training methods. Discipline, strict control of physical fitness, and psychological training were important points. Boxers were usually able to work effectively from a distance, using combinations of punches and dodges, which allowed them to better defend and counterattack. As a result, the Soviet style of boxing became known for its effectiveness and ability to adjust to the opponent. The book “400 Boxing Combinations” by Yuriy Ivantsiv is a valuable manual that allows you to improve your boxing technique by systematically studying and practicing various combinations. By studying the strength, speed and accuracy of punches, a boxer can significantly diversify his tactical methods in the ring. Combinations, presented in the book, help to develop not only technical skills, but also better coordination of movements, which helps to improve the overall combat training. Regular application of the described techniques in the training process helps to improve reaction and quick thinking in real fight conditions.

Great video! Could you look into Sugar Ray Leonard's training routine next? Another very disciplined fighter who Bivol takes inspiration from.
