Not only his home country, but also his actual hometown. Zhou is from Shanghai so it's extra special to him and no one should be surprised at the presence of a significant local fanbase. He's literally their home boy so this is extra wholesome.

A lot of people don't seem to realise he's the first and only Chinese F1 Driver in history and this is his first home race in front of the home crowd... That in itself is an achievement, regardless of where he finished. Very well deserved to have his own parking spot on the pit straight. Great gesture by F1 tbf.

honestly the chinese crowd was so awesome, they gave huge cheers to so many drivers. Zhou is an amazing driver, I usually root for him a little bit each race because he seems like such a nice dude.

This is not only the first home race for Zhou, but also the first Chinese Grand Prix with a home driver on the starting grid for every Chinese fan, so it’s such an emotional and memorable moment for both Zhou and us Chinese F1 fans. I was born and raised in Shanghai, and I am about the same age as Zhou. I still remember being on the grand stand with my dad as a little girl, dreaming to see a Chinese driver racing on the track. I'm really glad to have Zhou finally realizing the dream of every F1 lover in our country.
Too excited to comment real time, and it has been more than two weeks nowbut I just can't get over it. It's really an incredible weekend to be there, witnessing the dream come true for both Zhou and for every one of us. We wear uniforms for different teams but everybody cheers for our home hero🎉 Well done Zhou!

Every step he makes will make history amd I'm proud to be a witness of that history. I hope he'll inspire more drivers from our country and maybe one day, we'll have our own manufacturer, too.
