Is it compulsory to give sat subject exams ? To get admission in any college

Why cross multiply and whatever. It so easy to see that if you reduced it by 3 you'd get 15/9, which is a 5/3 ratio. All the steps taken would be worth it for bigger numbers but not for this one.

Since the question does not say the minimum value x=9 is also a solution
