Moving while looting is pretty simple to implement, you move cursor with right analog and scroll with left analog, simply allow controller players to scroll with the right and left trigger, move the cursor with the right analog and still move their character with the left analog

I still don’t know what to play I can play both the same level . I did decide to play Kbm but then I pick up a controller and I got a 25kill with 7 k damage but now idk what would better down the line ?

my take on the mnk vs roller point is, on both sides, stop looking at pro players and assuming that's a majority. a clip of Timmy tap strafing through the map and getting kills isn't a fair example of all mnk players, same with controller, a pro player beaming on controller doesnt always mean aim assist is the reason they are beaming. i also think taking tap strafing out of the game is stupid, yes it may not of been an intended mechanic but its one that is in the game and hard to use properly, just add it to controller instead of taking it away from mnk, ive never seen a dev studio undevelope their game as much as respawn does with apex. if there is something inherently broken, fix it. a movement mechanic, if you understand it, that is easy to read and hard to execute isn't broken, seer being free wall hacks is broken and if we arent going to fix seer, there are several legends that need a buff, servers need to be fixed, the hacking issue needs to be addressed etc. there are so many things in apex that need so much more attention then tap strafing or aim assist. movement is what makes apex so special, the more and more movement you take out of the game you just start to make the game basic, and take away from one of its most fun and challenging features, if you want to take a mech out because its not accessible make it accessible or bring back one that is, like zip line spam, dont just remove all the movement in the game and then wonder why no one wants to play anymore.

All the people saying now that tap strafing is gone lower aim assist. The 2 mechanics had absolutely nothing to do with each other and by no means should be linked by any logic to adjust the other.

Both input have their pros and cons and I dont think both input should be playing against each other in a competitive environment.

Im convinced that a middle ground where both input types are equally balanced exists, its just not implemented yet... The more important question in my opinion is : is respawn willing to make the effort of finding that sweet spot, or are they fine with having one input type being stronger than the other

I still think it’s worth looking into a hybrid version to optimize control. The reality is that both mouse and keyboard, and controller come with pros and cons. I know many people that don’t play mouse and keyboard simply because they can’t afford the rig you need attached. Controller is more accesible, and it’s movement controls do have potential do to the simplicity of thumb movement. Right now we need to consider something in between to advance to rather than simply choosing the best of what we have

A follow up video showing the different movement with controller and mnk would be nice. Showing exactly how aim assist works in Apex Legends would help give your audience a better idea of how good aim assist is compared to mnk.

I’ve been tap strafing since before Apex moved to steam. I now have 767 hours on steam. It’s basically engraved in my gameplay now. I’m tap strafing everywhere and bouncing off of everything. It really woke up the movement player in me and made Apex Legends so much more fun, it basically gave me the freedom to move wherever and however I pleased. I’m throughly going to miss tap strafing and playing Apex. This is a sad day for real gamers.

Controller is harder to learn but easier to master. M&k is easier to learn but harder to master. It’s the best analogy I’ve ever heard of when explaining both of these inputs

Respawn has to make Customized Controller setting ACTUALLY customizable because they don't separate Reload/Interact/Pickup from just 1 button instead of giving us separate keys because what you do with LS when Auto-Sprint is enabled?

I feel like this needs to be said. Tap-strafing was possible because of the way momentum works, and the way the game interprets inputs. It's only possible on PC because of the digital inputs requires to even to be able to do it. The people tap-strafing on controller have changed the analog inputs of it, into digital inputs which is only currently possible on PC. Inorder for console players to tap-strafe, they would either need to change the way analog inputs are interpreted which would probably effect the way the controls feel, or find some way to code the engine to allow this to happen with analog control's.

Another problem is balance. This is an unintended bug; the problem with that is it can't be balanced by the devs. Tap-strafing also effect legends abilities in a way that the developers didn't intend. Tap-strafing has been use the most on octanes jump pad which gives you a ridiculous amount of air mobility to the point that when use properly, can be use to reposition to areas that wouldn't be possible if you were in the wrong position.

I would like to add my opinion as a higher level casual controler player (I would say I am an upper tier plat player, I never had the playtime necessary to reach diamond in one split).

I think this duality between controler and mouse is very healthy for a game (given that both are well balanced). Maybe not at pro level, but at high levels such as diamond.

Controler are more accessible, but this accessibility comes at the cost of flexibility. They are perfect for people with bad mechanical talent who want to focus more on decision making rather than fancy aim and movement to perform well in a game.

Mouse is the opposite. It requires much more mechanical skills. It is perfect for people who want to focus on high level execution strats such as movement and aim.

It makes higher level accessible for both profile of players. By higher level, I mean geting to diamond/master, where you can still have some weaknesses in some aspects of the game. In my case, I have dyspraxia, I struggle a lot with mechanics, so I am glad I can have a more accessible option. On the other hand, I think I am pretty good compared to my skill class at decision making. I doubt I would be able to get out of gold with a mouse.

I think a competitive game gains a lot from being accessible. Not everyone has what it takes to be a pro, but many people are ready to invest time into a game because the feeling of getting better is amazing. Letting people choose how they want to get better, depending on their strength and weaknesses, is always a plus for a game.

Movement and time to kill is a big part of the addiction of the game. I switched to mmk 10 years ago and still learning and trying to get better. Skill gap is very important to this game

Controllers and M&K shouldn’t be allowed to play together. It’s always going to be unfair for or benefit one input more. Easiest fix is to make cross platform optional, if I can’t get into console lobbies how is it right for them to get in my lobbies.
