K&F Concept's Variable ND and the dreaded 'X' with iPhone 15 Pro

Late in the game getting the iPhone 15 Pro (was rocking a 6S up to now) and decided to do a test to see if I can use it for an upcoming music video. Tested it with the Neewer cage with side handles (V1), K&F Concepts Variable ND filter Nano-X ND2-ND400.
The iPhone 15 Pro’s ability to record in ProRes and Apple Log in 4K (24-60fps) is an exciting proposition to do creative work with it. Along with the BlackMagic Camera app (and its ability to lock down ISO and Shutter angle to maintain the cinematic FPS) and a variable ND to control exposure, these two additional options changes the game. I opted to use K&F Concept’s variable ND Nano-X 77mm ND2-ND400 for the test. This filter has worked well with my Pocket 6K and GH5, but for some strange reason, it created the dreaded “X” with using the iPhone 15 Pro. Any insights will be greatly appreciated.
