The name that goes around for this household is the immigrant family, but they have actually been in Portugal for a long time. around 1920 they moved to Portugal to pursue a better life and became wine farmers. Over almost a century they produced local Portuguese wine and had a flourishing lifestyle in the countryside of Portugal. But in 1997 business started to decline and they had no other option than to move back to their home country France and pursue something else in life. Ever since that time, their house in Portugal has been abandoned and nobody seems to care about the lost memories they are still inside.

Gorgeous antique wooden furniture!!! You are sooo very right… we all have too much in our lives!!! Items that we collect, that we think will make us happy, ancestors belongings & just things that catch our eye, for whatever reason?!? Then, when we scale back, at the end of our lives, our children don’t want it, it doesn’t hold the same meaning for them, as it does for us…sooo what becomes of it??? Very sad😢😞😰 Thank you Leslie, for sharing this wonderful adventure with us!!! I loved it ❤️

The furniture of the house has a beautiful interesting design, too bad it's left there to rot away; Lesley, I like the way you always try to show your viewers how old items work ( the chair for prayer); you and Jordy are such fine observers of history and its past beauty!!! Thank you for this nice episode!

If the people moved back to France the cost of moving such heavy furniture back there must have be really expensive. I imagine they took what they could afford. Thank you for such another amazing journey again

hi Lesley, Ouch, shorts aren't good for blackberries and nettles. Lesley it sometimes makes me sad to see all the memories left behind. Forgetting a lived life in time. Lesley I love your Videos, you always enter the building with the necessary respect for the former residents. Thanks Lesley for this very nice Video.

Jordy, you did a nice job of the close-ups of things on the tables. I love the little bed. Lesley, don't ever stop being curious about things in life. There is too much stuff in this world.

Some people leave everything behind i think because at their other home they have the same amount of stuff there also.

I agree, we accumulate too many things that we dont really need. That's why I am a minimalist!

Intriguing old house. The view from the terrace is just so beautiful and peaceful. Can just imagine sitting there of an evening. It must have been a vibrant home long ago. Thank you for taking us on this journey. 🌻

This furniture and architecture are kind of astounding. Everything is extremely well made and overbuilt. People would freak out for this stuff nowadays.

I must admit that I have a house full of things that I have collected over the years but as I am older now that I have really slowed down buying things as there is no family that would appreciate what I have collected. Thank you for your opinion about collecting stuff and the great explore and stay safe...
