Personally I think the uncle sold the doll for profit. And that’s why the mom was also acting strange. The mom was aware of the value of the doll and knew what the uncle did.

Even know a lot of stuff has gotten ruined over the years or I was forced to donate things when it came to the donation at least I had a choice on what stayed and what left so it wasn't nearly as bad as when the flooding of the stuff happened and over half was damaged beyond repair. I've always had a lot of stuff and I've always been blessed so even if I had the space to have it all again I don't think I'd want everything again it would just be too much. I feel like maybe some things happen for a reason to keep you grounded in reality. Also it helps you understand that life isn't perfect and it never will be.

I had a bit of a problem similar to this when I left my father's house he made me get everything I had and take it with me despite me having no where to put anything and not having a stable place to live. A lot of my stuff had gotten ruined over the years because of my father and because of having to put the dolls in a basement and having to deal with flooding. I was very angry at him for a long time but now if I wanted to I could buy everything back with his money now that he is dead. Things happen but honestly if you think there's any risk of your stuff being throw out don't leave it at your parents house if you leave it long enough they will toss it to make space for more crap for them. I probley had like thousand of dolls that got ruined because of people glad I have my own place now where I don't have assholes damaging everything or making me get rid of things for the sake of someone else😢
