Are you sure the straw hat is based on the bug trainer? The sprite for the trainer class “Lady” in Fire Red and Leaf Green also wears a similar hat. While it’s kind of hard to tell if it’s straw, it does have the same blue ribbon

Albeit, the Lady trainer class doesn’t use a jiggly puff outside of Lady Eloos in Colosseum. So who knows if I’m even close on that either lol.
