Today (8 September 2022), Her Majesty The Queen passed away at age 96. It is unlikely we will hear God Save the Queen again in our lifetimes. Words are inadequate to describe the loss we have faced.

The hearing of the British national anthem causes me more emotion than the Marseillaise. And yet, I am a retired senior officer in the French Army. But the words of "God save the Queen" seem to me more peaceful and unifying than those of the Marseillaise (which are still due to the French Revolution).
France was great under the reign of Louis XIV. The United Kingdom, whatever successive Governments, remained great thanks to the continuity guaranteed by Her Majesty.
May God bless her and guarantee her a successor as great as she! ...
