A Tour of the New USA Fanny Meisler Trauma Center

The new 32 bed, 30,000 square feet Fanny Meisler Trauma Center is nearing completion. Dr. Edward Panacek provides a guided tour of the unfinished facility. This video was created as part of preparations for recruitment of our next class of emergency medicine residents to the University of South Alabama.

Congrats! How exiting for all of you!! I was part of the nursing team that opened a new hospital in my area. I couldn't wait to use all of our new things! I am giddy with excitement for you guys!! 😄

If your program plans to accept DO's count me in! That space was very well thought out. I have always loved the idea of a fast track system where the patients don't waste space in a bed nor incure unnecessary costs due to being placed in a room. Also I am not sure of the behavioral health situation, but where I am that is something that is baldly needed and where I have worked we get a lot of use out if it.

This is truly what an ER is supposed to look like. I live in Canada and we have 2 hospitals that have 2 different but similar type of layout and it looks like you are combining both of them
