Pouring Molten Aluminum - Metal Casting at Home

Показать описание
Melting Metal, Metal Casting with Molten Aluminum is such an easy thing to do. Using the Lost Foam Casting Technique makes it super simple. Aluminum is one of the easiest metals to acquire. I melt copper and brass too, but aluminum is a lower melting temperature than those. To melt the aluminum, or any metal, you need a melting furnace. I normally use a propane furnace, but today I am using my electric furnace. I will make up the mold using dry sand and bury my foam patterns into it. I made the foam patterns using my CNC machine. I am using polystyrene XPS. That is the best type of foam when metal casting this way. If you like this video, head over to my videos and check out some of my latest metal casting videos.

That definitely made someone's day finding something so cool at the beginning of their hike.

I love the finish on these, and I really love the idea of leaving them for hikers to find.

Personally, this is my favorite Heinrichs Made video now, the final product just looks so perfect.

That is so cool that you leave those for other hikers. Well done!

Great cast!!! Putting the little designs in them turned out great. Cool idea for leaving them out and about for people to find.

Fantastic share. Love that you have the state of New Jersey on this. It is kinda like a the quarters that they put out there back in the early 2000s. Neat that you leave them sitting out there randomly when you go hiking. Great stuff as always and enjoyed.

What a great idea by leaving them on hikingtrails. Really good. And I hope some of the finders will give you a message.

This looks good! Okay so Channel Idea that will drive people here in droves. NileBlue (1.64M channel) did a project making himself a gold grill for his teeth and he used a crazy plaster method. You should do a video covering this, ways he could have done it better or tweaks to make it easier or faster. Watching it, I thought your commentary would be cool. His video "Making custom gold grillz (to avoid crippling embarrassment)" already has 1M+ views so get at that now, I was thinking about your casting techniques and how he could have done it better. edit: he didn't have a vent on one part.
