The Idaho murder victims' surviving female roommate likely didn't call for help after coming face-to-face with accused killer Bryan Kohberger because she may have been paralyzed by fear and confusion, experts told Fox News Digital.

The roommate — one of two who survived the attack — faced swift backslash after it was revealed in an affidavit, that she awoke Nov. 13 and looked directly at the alleged murderer as he fled, then locked herself in her bedroom.

"When a person goes through trauma, they are going to experience fight, flight or freeze," said Dr. Katherine Kuhlman, a police and public safety psychologist based in Arizona. "Most people in their entire lives won't have to deal with this type of trauma and won't mentally prepare for it."

Brave enough to open the door 3X but not brave enough to tap 3 digits on her phone.

She heard the victims saying "there's someone here", she saw the suspect coming out from one of the rooms victims, she was so scared to react quickly, but the fact she waited 8 hours to call her friends instead the police, stunned me 😐

Trauma = seeing someone leaving your house. Really? She doesn't know what happened. She has no idea that murder took place. What trauma?

It does not make sense. Why did Dylan open her door 3x as if she finds something strange or suspicious? Keep in mind they’re not roomies but best of friends. So why didn’t she check on them, call them or even call the cops. It was early morning 3-4 am lights out…clearly it wasn’t a party and she sees a man wearing all black and a mask! Come on now!

You don’t check the hallway 3 times concerned, hear the crying of your roommate with male voice attempting to soothe them, and some random dude leaving your house without checking in with your friends physically, sending them a text or call. There was a loud thud reported by neighbors. The dog was barking. It doesn’t line up.

What trauma is this doctor talking about? She didn't experience any trauma until she checked on them 8 hours later. I agree somethings not right with her story.

No one is too traumatized to call 911 for 8 hours. No one.

The dog is barking, crying is heard, a thump is heard, a voice she can't identify is heard. She opens her door and looks out three times, sees a mask, black suited man coming towards her, headed through the house towards a door. She is alarmed enough to lock herself in her room. She then waits 8 hours to call the police. I'm not buying it. There is more to this story.

8 hours is a very very very long time to wait, I wonder what all we are missing.

The not calling 911 for 8 hours, I just can’t get past that. I’m eager to see what information comes out in court. No hate, I just find that extremely bizarre, especially after hearing what she heard. I just can’t wrap my mind around that.

These kids were living their lives and preyed upon by a vile monster. Prayers go out to the victims, survivors in the home & the families.

She didn't freeze, she locked herself in her room. She didn't think any thing was wrong, but locked herself in her room? She didn't think anything was wrong, but went into shock out of fear? Fear of what? I thought nothing was wrong. None of this makes sense. She could have tried to call her roomies from her cell, from her locked room, then police. She went to bed.

I don't get how somebody sees a masked man in her house and says she didn't call 911 due her shock. But she goes back to bed and sleeps? What? How come you are scared with a stranger in your house but fall asleep anyway?

If she didn't know he brutally killed four roommates, what was her trauma about?
About a guy cladded in black leaving the house?

The fact that the surviving roomate hears a Scream or cry and she seen a clad person who just fled the house and doesn't call 911, but hours later she calls her friends 1st after all this, this all seem Strange.

That girl completely threw the possibility of her friends’ survival completely out the window & I hope she realizes that. Worst roommate of all time.

Nope. This roommate was not too freaked out to go back to sleep. Something is off.

Makes no sense at all why she didn’t call police She could’ve possibly saved her friends from bleeding out and got the killer the same night. I just don’t understand how she fell back to sleep after hearing and seeing what she did and then didn’t wake up until noon. Weird af.

She saw no dead bodies, she lived in a party house, it was common to have people in the home. So there was no trauma at 4am unless she is lying. And I think she is with holding information.
