The tail is the easiest way to tell. The 737 has another triangular piece.

Certainly not a problem for the average spotter. How to differentiate the models in each family will be a little more challenging

Another good way to tell them apart is that the doors don't break and fly off mid flight on the A320

Thank you, SF. As an aviation aficionado I want to believe I’d never come anywhere close to mixing both aircraft up, but I guess this content may be useful for someone else.

And the Boeing's wingtip strobe lights "blink" one time and the airbus two times

With a 737 you can see the rear wheels when retracted.

I think one of the easiest is the tailfin. the 737 has a sort of triangle thingy on it

Another way to look at it the engines 737 is low to the ground but A320 higher

Look at their main cabin door. If it has the window at the centre of the door->B737. But, if it is at the side->A320

Yes i know about those differences for a very long time. From the first time flying onboard an airplane with a Boeing 737 back in 2009 to the last time i flew onboard an airplane with the Airbus A320 back in July 2018.

Knew all these differences and another is that the 737 tail has a little v shape at the front of it and the A320 family doesn’t also the tail APU port on the A320 family (and all Airbus jets) is perfectly rounded like an exhaust pipe on a car versus the 737s blunt nub shape or triangular pointed tail cone on the 737 MAX family. 😊

Airbus has it's double strobe, while Boeing - single one lol : )) Also I heard that Boeing and Airbus has totally different approach to wing design. Airbus has much heavier and tough wing which makes Airbus feels great on takeoff and landings. While Boeing has light and flexible wing, which have most advantages on cruise flight. But they had to create additional controlling surfaces called flaperons to help aircraft maneuver on low speeds.

There is 1 major difference you forgot to mention and that is the landing lights. The A320 has the the landing lights underneath the wings in front of the landing gear while the 737s have landing lights on the wings

The nose gear doors are also shaped differently

i think the 737 is a beautiful airplane, it has that classic beautiful look

Dont forget- Airbus has enclosed main gear with wheel wells. B737 is not equipped with enclosed main gear. The tires are exposed during flight.

I can already distinguish them by just looking at the nose
So easy

Also, the 737 fuselage breaks in half if the airplane ditches, the A320 does not. Ask Sully.

Also the doors for the front landing gear are more visible on the 737, and the winglets are different shapes
