ASUS is launching a new mesh wifi implementation called AI Mesh that leverages the features of your existing wireless router so you can have faster internet across the entire house.
How to improve the network setup with an old router?
Step one, buy a bunch of brand new routers. 10/10.

I hope *screams in 56k* becomes a thing.

I would submit a video for a chance to win, but my internet is so bad I cant even upload.

Is it just me? or were there so many audio inconsistencies? Especially 9:18 where the video actually de-synced.

I am sure that just switching to the six legged crab absolute monster of a router was enough to fix all the issues, no "ai mesh" required.

9:40 *Where are your socks and sandles now, Linus!?!?*

But can't you get better "not faster" wifi with any added routers anyways? Isn't the the title of the video kind of suggesting something completely different?

“With the kids in the basement all those years” 😳

Why not *measure* the internet speed instead of just testing to stream videos?

How to get faster wifi with old routers? Spend hundreds of dollars and install 3 new devices, cool.
Mindereak
But maybe replacing just the main router was enough?

Thank you Linus. Inspired by this video I installed AImesh in my house, garden and shed. Two old routers, one secondhand and two new ones. Perfect reception throughout the house. It is early still early days to determine whether the system is stable but so far so good. My only issue is that it does not seem possible to make use of the USB ports of the nodes for printers & external hard drives.

Anyone else getting audio problems, like sometimes it's not in sync and there's repetition of words
TheUwaisPatel
Based on the title I thought Linus was going to be talking about DD-WRT, or Tomato, or some other custom firmware for routers.

My Internet used to be that bad that even the ISP service told me to switch to a better ISP which was ridiculous as I was achieving a speed of 0.283mb/s as they checked. Plus it was that bad that even the Ookla speed checker refused to connect and test my speeds. The Internet loaded so slow that even 144p was unplayable by that point. Now I'm at 70-105mbps on a Virgin Media 108mbps plan here in the UK which is amazing. Can play full 1080p60 and even 4K60 on my phone, 2 monitors and even two TV's. Great job VM!
