0:54 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on 25 February 2022 looking east as the gates are going down and we see the headlight of an approaching train. This is CSX train #Q367. After train #Q367 passes, we follow it as it goes around the curve toward the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York. At 4:46 you zoom in on the jet engine snow melter mounted on a self-propelled piece of maintenance of way equipment.
5:10 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on 24 February 2022 looking east at CSX train #C750, the Dunkirk Local, which is returning from the siding at Silver Creek, New York with the bad order container wheel car that was caught by the CSX defect detector at CSX Mile Post 42.6. The car was on CSX train #I166, on 19 February 2022. We watch the train cross Middle Road and then go around the curve to some crossovers about a half mile west where the train will be able to come into the west end of the CSX Dunkirk Rail Yard.
9:28 We are at the CSX Middle Road crossing looking west on 24 February 2022 at CSX train #C750 as it comes around the curve from the elevated track through Dunkirk, New York. At 12:10 the bad order car is shoved onto another track in the Dunkirk Rail Yard from the old Erie Railroad track and set out to wait the arrival of a repair crew to replace the bad order roller bearing on the well car. At 13:01 the engine is going back to connect with the other engine of the Dunkirk Local .
14:50 We are in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Park Avenue and East Third Street. You have zoomed in on CSX train #C750, the Dunkirk Local, on 24 February 2022. The train in going over the Main Street viaduct. This day's Dunkirk Local has the repaired container well car with its containers in tow as it heads back to the CSX Rail Yard in Erie, Pennsylvania. Once the repaired container well car arrives in the CSX Erie Rail Yard, it will probably be picked up by the first CSX train #I166 that comes through Erie, Pennsylvania in order to get it on its way to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
16:54 You take us back to 19 February 2022 as we are at the CSX Middle Road crossing on the east side of Dunkirk, New York and we see CSX train #I166 coming toward us as the dispatcher is telling the train crew that they have a hot box on the second well car in the train. This is the well car that we have seen earlier in this video as CSX train #C570, the Dunkirk Local, was bringing the bad order car back from the siding in Silver Creek, New York to the CSX Dunkirk Rail Yard on 24 February 2022. At 18:01 you stop the video to show us the bad order container well car as it appears in the train. The bad order car is a single container well that that is the second car in the train. The first car in the train is an articulated well car that has five individual wells. The bad order car was probably discovered by the CSX defect detector at Mile Post 42.6 which about three miles west of where we currently are located. You tell us that the train is slowing down so that it can stop before the next crossing at Harrington Road which is at least two miles to the east. At 18:37 a mid-train DPU appears on the train.
20:53 We are at the Harrington Road crossing in Sheridan, New York looking at a signal bridge that is east of the Harrington Road crossing. That signal bridge is showing that there are two greens lights. One green light is for train #I166 which is on track #2. The other green light is for a train that will pass train #I166 on track #1. CSX train #I166 had stopped west of the Harrington Road crossing but is now on the move east. AT 21:20 the gates go down at the Harrington Road crossing as CSX train #I166 comes into view traveling at a speed of 10 Miles Per Hour because of the hot box bearing. Train #I166 will will be going to the siding at Silver Creek, New York where there are some track maintainers working on removing snow and ice from the switch at that siding so that the bad order well car can be placed on the siding until it can be picked up by the Dunkirk Local and taken back to the Dunkirk Rail Yard for a repair crew to replace the damaged wheel bearing. At 24:11 we see the mid-train DPU again. At 26:27 the end of of train #I166
27:05 The lights at the Harrington Road crossing start to flash on the Harrington Road gates on 19 February 2022. At 27:43 the lead engine of CSX train #I008 approaches the Harrington Road crossing. At 27:56 we see that the end of CSX train #I166 has past the signal bridge to the east. At 28:14 train #I008 knocks down the signal for track #1 on the signal bridge. At 28:20 the lead engine of CSX train #I008 passes the end of CSX train #I166. At 28:22 a mid-train DPU appears on train #I008. AT 30:01the end of CSX train #I008 passes the Harrington Road crossing.
