Only problem i had was with all their team claiming they didn't know the OT rules right after the ref explained it. 🤷 own your L and move on.

Acho: At first I thought it was dumb … then I heard Shanahan speak and got back on my knees Lmao

The idea that either coach would have allowed the game to get to that 3rd possession of sudden death is false in my opinion. If the first team scored 7, the second team would have gone for 2 to win the game there. That third possession would have never happened; which is why shanahan strategizing for the third possession was the wrong choice.

Plus James Jones’ point about 4 downs vs 3 downs is 10000% correct for starters.

They're also missing that Reid said had the Niners scored 7 on their opening drive, the Chiefs (wanting to avoid sudden death) would have gone for 2 if they scored a TD. Shanahan was anticipating this going at least 3 possessions. And Andy Reid was looking to win the game. That was the difference. The Niners all second half were playing to not lose. They were not aggressive on either side of the ball.

Acho really said he doesn’t have a problem with the players not knowing the rules 😂😭

People quote the “ANALYTICS”… but those analytics don’t take into account the “who” your up against factor.

As a Niners fan, I didn’t realize this but Greg’s point of extra down is right on

IMO being fair the special teams deflecting the game changed the whole momentum. To me that was the start of the loss.

Defense against 3 downs is not the same as defense against 4 downs. It was a dumb call to give him 4

49ers defense was out of gas and Mahones is known to come back. The only problem was not going for it on 4th down that close to the end zone. You could have either got a TD or at least get a 1st. In OT go all or nothing.

Did nobody hear the the refs explain the overtime rules during the coin flip or did I randomly start watching a different game?

I think acho get 2 caught up in trying to make the most calculated answer/ decision rather then eye test n keeping things simple

I think hindsight is always 20/20. Maybe Kyle saw his defense tired and Mahomes was finding his rhythm that last drive and he thought let me give my defense a rest and put the offense out their and hopefully they score.

The problem with Kyle’s reasoning is that it would only work if they had scored a TD. Settling for a FG gave KC all the confidence and momentum cause they knew if they didn’t get that TD at the end they would just kick a FG for double OT. Too many things went wrong at the end, like Oline letting Jones through. Jennings and Aiyuk were wide open.

Defense was gassed, tired, and JUST got scored on. They needed a breather...

all they had to do was block Jones on that 3rd nd 4 nd Brandon was wide open !! 😢😢🤬

I don’t have a problem with the 49ers taking the ball first the problem is they settled for 3 instead of going for it. Especially if you’re are thinking about a 3rd possession that means you envisioned the Chiefs scoring a TD.

Shannahan made the right call to recieve the ball. If SF scored a TD then KC scored a TD then Niners would have the first opportunity to win it. People who says otherwise are dumb. Receiving 2nd does have its advantages but not as much as recieving it first.
As far as the over time rule goes, plenty of people dont know it to include broadcasters. KC player who caught the winning pass didnt know it either.

The ref explained the rules to the world

The ref literally told them the rule right before they had to make the decision. How dumb can you be?
