Turning your phone sideways is so long, awkward, and uncomfortable. I nearly died doing it and lost my entire family, thank you Instagram! I'd much rather watch videos where I can see almost nothing.

I dont get it, sure a lot of people watch videos on mobile, but its not hard to rotate your device 90 degrees to see full screen landscape content. As well, its not like mobile is the only place most people watch content. For example someone may start watching a youtube video on their phone then move to their living room and throw it up on their TV with a chromecast. Already their silly video format will be less than ideal doing anything like this. How about desktop support? Its like they are trying to compete with YouTube by limiting their platform right from the start. This will be nothing more than creators making their 1 minute long videos now a few minutes longer, appealing to a very small audience of regular watchers.
