Silo 37C: Dark Ambient Sci Fi Space Music for Relaxation

Approximately 50 kilometres Northeast of Outpost Theta sits Silo 37C, its precise coordinates lost to the outer rim of the Rocklands. Housing rare minerals found only on Sera Five, it now rests abandoned and left to decay. Mineral foragers of the Omega System rumour of the riches kept within the Silo, yet rarely venture through the planet's dangerously arid atmosphere in search of its treasures.

Beautiful music - discovered you through 'Alone'. I was hooked. A great human touch to some excellent ambient music. Very much reminiscent of State Azure's generative ambient tracks - right up my sonic alley. The world-building is just another level of depth to this.

This track gave me some serious frisson at times!

This kind of music brings me back to my childhood, it reminds me of games like Spore, Last day on earth, Fallout 4. These days..

Your channel really has some of the best dark ambient soundscapes - there is so much out there that is repetitive and boring in its simplicity, but you have just enough subtle intrigue to keep things interesting while still living in the background of a focused work session or late night chill-out. Thank you!

The arid atmosphere of Sera Five made for a tough journey through the Rocklands. Flying was out of the question, as electrical discharges occurred all the time, disrupting navigational and flight systems. Travel on the ground by crawler was the only relatively-safe option.

One had to be careful where one traveled, as the variant electrostatic potentials in the dust, soil, and rocks could cause all sorts of nasty, if not fatal consequences. Come too close to a rock with the wrong charge and the discharge could provide quite a shock that could temporarily scramble sensors and reset computer systems. If you were outside the crawler in your suit, the discharge plasma could burn a hole in it. That would result in all sorts of nastiness, if not addressed soon enough. There was a story about a poor soul that couldn't reach to plug a hole in their suit. Before they could be get back to their crawler, they collapsed from dehydration. When they were eventually found, they had been totally desiccated. Well, that could have been just a story.

The dust was ever present and would coat everything in no time, if it weren't for the electrostatic repellers. A poorly-maintained repeller could get you killed. Too much dust build up in mechanical equipment would grind it to pieces. Too much dust build-up on thermal coolers would lead to overheating of your equipment or you! Dust-coated crawler portals or suit visors meant you were moving around 'dust-blind'.

We'd been searching over a month for Silo 37C. The clues we got from other foragers or their abandoned equipment were helpful in that they told us where not to look. We had already lost one of our crawlers due to equipment failure. We came close to losing one of our team to dust-blindness while moving supplies to the other crawlers. When we found silos 37A and 37B, we knew that we were on the right track. Of course, 37A and B provided no useful treasure, as the minerals they contained were almost as common as the swirling dust.

We stumbled upon Silo 37C, not seeing a towering silo appear in the hazy distance. The silo was laying on its side. We guessed that the abrasive dust had chewed up some of the guy wires, like rust would have done on a far wetter world. A strong gust of dusty wind would then send the silo toppling. This was actually a stroke of luck. It would be far easier and safer to remove the mineral treasures by punching holes in the side of the silo, rather than trying to get them to pour out of the dilapidated chutes.

As we surveyed its exterior, we discovered a wavering light on the top, now the far end, of the silo. The light was shining from a window of the silo's equipment room. It was strange that it was still feebly shining after all this time. It took some effort, but I managed to climb up to the door of the equipment room. Pushing the door open, it fell with a bang against the wall, which was now a 'floor'. In the flickering light, I saw a message scrawled on an opposing wall, now above me, "If you've come this far, you're too late". I peered into the access hole in the floor in front of me and saw nothing but empty blackness. Disgusted, I thought that someone had already grabbed the minerals! I picked up a tool in front of me and threw it into the access hole. In the distance, I heard a 'thud', not and empty bang. A low, guttural roar made me realize that there were no treasures to be found here....
