I used to work for Geico and am currently an LEO and I can say that just because someone is given a citation at an accident, in no way deems who is at fault, in any way. Just FYI

I totally read that as "Why don't you lie to your insurance company?"

The insurance would have been cheaper in Florida in the first place
What a dumb move

I'm an insurance agent, this is absolutely true. Frequently teens and young twenty year olds will have their insurance policies registered to their parents house because the rates are better. Shit hits the fan when they try to file a claim and aren't using the correct garaging address.

I thought this was going to be about someone wrecking one of Rob's cars again and the insurance company not paying up, again.

Great point. My car is reguistered in Montana but 100% insured under Louisiana where the car is currently at 98% of the 2% of time in MS.

How to never mess up with insurance? Move somewhere where insurance is reasonable and the court system isn't bullshit. Aka...south east.

Let me get this, A hole with lambo dodges insurance cost by registering somewhere else, must be nice to skirt the system even when you have the cash.

I garage my summer/winter vehicle when I’m not driving them. 100 miles away. In the same state. I STILL notified my insurance company lmao.

As a log haul trucking company owner, I deal with insurance alot. My policy for one truck is 100k cargo value and 1 mill umbrella on top of truck and trailer value and under or un insured policy.
I have had cargo and damage claims and the insurance company will do everything they can to avoid paying. They have lawyers who find the smallest of loop holes to not pay. It their job.
By you lying to them, you just gave them a free DONT PAY card. They may know your lying and still take your money and not call you on it. But once a claim happens, they call you on the lie and say good bye and keep your money.
I seen it happen to other trucking companies.

You lie, they will more then likely catch you in the end. Maybe even after they pay they will come back after you. I seen that also.

I used to handle liability claims for a big insurance company. At least in my company/office, we did NOT look for ways to deny claims. Our jobs were WAAAAY easier when we could just cover and pay everything. When people lied and did stupid shit, then it becomes a pain in my ass because denials are way more work than paying.
We'd do recorded statement to determine liability or ensure coverage was appropriate and claimants would talk themselves right into fraud or fault. I'd even ask leading questions trying to help them, and they'd still be too stupid to not bury themselves.

Property insurance... now thats a different monster.

As someone who may or may not have had to un-modify a car overnight before it was collected by insurance, *don't lie to them!!!*
