How about we just get rid of tip culture. And pay people 🤷🏼‍♀️
This is coming from someone that spent almost 2 decades in the restaurant industry.

How can the government tax a tip when a tip is a gift?

America is the only place in the world that thinks you must tip.

You give a tip to a person only if they gave you good service, no other reason.

If the supreme Court judges dont have to pay tax on their tips then why should you?

MSNBC calling this is a scam is hilarious. That extra money for service industry workers would be a godsend.

Trump came up with the idea, and the media went nuts, saying it would cost 250 billion a year. When Kamala supports it, all of the sudden the media supports it.

Hr5376 where she as the VP and tie breaker in the senate voted yes to target collecting tips. So there’s that.

So workers who are paid entirely or partially on tips won't be taxed on that income, ok great for them. What about the rest of us who are taxed on all our wages, how is that fair?

Kamala Harris literally signed a bill to tax on tips.
There was a vote and Kamala was the tie breaker.

Trump unveiled this June 9th. Kamala can’t even come up with her own ideas. I can’t wait to vote for Trump come November.

Yes. Ill "sell" for something for cheap, and the customer will tip the rest. I love it.

We voted for him based on this alone. My husband works for tip. He’s a professional bartender and 33% of his income goes to taxes.

sadly tips should never have been taxed. they are a gift from the customer to the server. gifts are not taxed by the recipient.

I’m a server, and I disagree with this idea. Every year, I pay around $8, 000 in taxes. I believe to a certain amount, I shouldn’t be taxed extra on my CC tips if I’m “gifted” extra, just like cash tips, which no server or bartender would claim. But, I know I must contribute to taxes. So, if I only get taxed on my $2.13/hr, I’d basically be paying almost nothing in taxes, which isn’t right. This idea is bad for businesses, consumers, and the economy. Btw, income taxes that are taken out of our paychecks go to federal, state, SS, and Medicare… not Medicaid. *I can’t believe that the journalist didn’t edit their statement about Medicaid vs Medicare for taxes. Medicaid is state funded and Medicare is federally funded. I feel like TODAY should issue a redaction on that statement because it’s not correct, but…

Service industry workers in Europe are paid better wages than those in the US. Tips are part of the bill; you can tip extra to the staff if you want. Service industry wages should increase so employees can live.

Listen tax on tips is ridiculous. Government needs to quit spending so much money that money's already been taxed. I always tell people if you get cash, don't no matter what your employer says. Do not announce that.. All this is manipulation. Take poor money. It's take more money. It's ridiculous.. I call it a bunch of crooks

I ALWAYS PAY MY TIP IN CASH. It's my waiters money. NOT THE BUSINESS. IF you put your tip on your credit card....thats your tip tax. THE government gets enough tax money out of me already. NO MO!
A WAITERESS /WAITER does not make min wage due to their tips. SO it's only fair. I give them cash.
