WCNC Charlotte Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich is traveling back to Charlotte and is providing a winter storm update from the airport

Brad's bottom line: be ready for a big travel impact across the Carolinas on Sunday and Monday. There will be some snow - with more in the mountains and some down into Charlotte and throughout the Piedmont - but just a matter of how much is the question. The Interstate 85 corridor will yet again be the dividing line between snow, ice, sleet, and freezing rain.

We have all seen plenty of times what causes the individual precipitation types, however, what causes them to mix- to fall from the same cloud in the same place at the same time? Please do a video explaining how this happens.

sounds just like 2002, got lots of snow all day then it turned into an inch of freezing rain that night.
