NEW UPDATE!! HOYOVERSE TO ADD NEW CHARACTERS TO THE STANDARD BANNER - Genshin Impact

Joining the likes of Diluc, Jean, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Tighnari, and Dehya, who we are all too familiar with losing our 50/50s to, will be either Citlali, or Iansan, or both. I know how it sounds, but I'm not making this up or anything. According to the information shared by Iris Leaks, there will be two new characters from Natlan who will be added to the Standard Banner sometime in the future. And these two characters are Citlali and Iansan.

We have seven characters in the Standard Banner pool right now, and the only thing it lacks is a Geo 5-star character. So if you go with that, they should add a new Geo 5-star character, but they didn't do it in Sumeru, so I guess there's no point in talking about it now. Back when Fontaine was about to be released, there was a leak circulating in the community that Hoyoverse would add a total of 9 or 10 characters to the Standard Banner. At present, we have 7, so if you count Citlali and Iansan, then it will be 9. Which means after these two, we'll get either one more character on the Standard Banner, or none.

And this is not the first time it's happening, or going to happen. You see, the Standard Banner in Genshin Impact originally featured only five characters: Jean, Diluc, Mona, Qiqi, and Keqing. Over time, two more characters were added to the banner, Tighnari in version 3.1, and Dehya in version 3.5. Since then, there have been no further updates to the Standard Banner character pool. In Fontaine, there were some rumors that Wriothesley or Chiori would be added to the Standard Banner, but they were only rumors.

As for Citlali and Iansan's release date—well, Citlali is expected to debut in version 5.3 alongside the Pyro Archon Mavuika. Citlali will be a 5-star Cryo unit, and she is expected to be a catalyst user. However, there has been no concrete information available about Iansan's release date so far. But there are some leaks suggesting that she will be released around version 5.6 or later. Iansan will be a 5-star Electro character, and she's expected to be a polearm user.

If these recent leaks are to be believed, then the Standard Banner will get an update after quite some time. It’s been established since forever that 4-stars get featured on their debut banners and then are added to the Standard pool in the following patch, and the same goes for the 5-star characters. So if Citlali comes in version 5.3, then she'll be added to the Standard Banner in version 5.4. And if Iansan is released in version 5.6, then she will be added to the Standard pool in version 5.7.

And if this information is true, then they will have to announce it during the version 5.3 special program, you know, whether Citlali is going to the Standard Banner or not? Because they can't just release her banner in 5.3, and announce in 5.4 that she's now a Standard character, because that'll get them in trouble. And we have seen them do this, like announcing whether or not a character is going to the Standard Banner. They announced during the version 3.0 special program that Tighnari would be added to the Standard Banner pool, and they did the same thing with Dehya. So if this information is true, then we'll get the announcement before their banners are up.

I don't think they'll be letting Citlali go to standard banner. Iansan is a contender though. But if Citlali will then I'll be happy loosing my 5050 to her or Tighnari.

I think adding older characters like Klee, Albedo and Eula drom Mondstadt, Ganyu and Shenhe from Liyue, maybe Itto and Yoimiya from Inazuma and Wriothesley and Siegewine from Fontaine. My suggession would be to go with the leastbowned character from older regions like Monstadt, Liyue and Inazuma first.

I'd have mixed feelings about Citlali being standard since she's who I want the most. I don't think she will be purely because of the Cn hype for her..but I could definitely see Iansan going there.

Iansan as a standard 5* kind of aannoys me as she was on the Teyvat chapters as our first revealed Natlan Character I found it even more irksome how so many people kept asking if she was a 4* character. Iansan keeps getting thrown under a bus & it's kinda pissing me off. Dehya ended up in the same Dook Dook condition, all hype than, into the standard banner without any substance, which resulted in Dehya's kit being an incohesive mess untii a patch ago..Even my "Maple Dehya" builld only succeeded in making her "Fun" for C0-0P NOT "Meta."

Citlali is the 2nd most popular character for CN community after Mavuika, the chance for Hoyo to give up such a profitable banner and bring Citlali to standard banner is so low.

iris reports very weird leaks but i don't remember if any have been disproven yet. if it's true tho both citlali and iansan were rumored to be 4*s but with citlali's popularity i can see why they would bump her to be a 5* and iansan is an important character lore wise and appears in the teyvat trailer wielding pyro so ppl think she could become the next archon. if their kits were finalized as 4*s then making them standard characters means just cranking numbers and adding burst animation which is probably easier than making them better kits. it's still weird though, i think hyv missed their chance to add chiori to the standard banner because there are still no geo or inazuman characters so she would fit just right

It would be nice if they let you block or select your options. Kind of what they did on the BattlePass. I do not use Tinahri and yet I have him at C3.
Frustrating. It's usually him. At least when I lost to Jean it was someone that works for me.
