Kunimitsu is a title given to two kunoichi characters in the Tekken fighting game series.
The first Kunimitsu made her first appearance in the original Tekken as an unlockable character who acted as the sub-boss for Michelle Chang. She later retires at the end of her last canonical appearance, Tekken 2, and is succeeded by her daughter in Tekken 7.
The sword in Yoshimitsu's keep, the katana Enchanted Yoshimitsu, severs the life force of its enemies; it seems that a commandment among the Manji Party dictates that the current leader of the group must kill the former leader with the sword when a change of leadership is at hand.
No matter how many times Kunimitsu's grandfather, a swordsmith, tried to forge a sword as precious as the katana the Enchanted Yoshimitsu, he was unsuccessful. Believing her frail grandfather desires to make a high-quality katana before his death, Kunimitsu decides to join the tournament in order to seize Yoshimitsu's blade.
Tekken 2 is a fighting game, the second entry in the Tekken series. It was released in arcades in 1995, and for the PlayStation in 1996. The original arcade version of the game was released in Tekken 5's Arcade History mode for the PlayStation 2, in 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable via the PlayStation Network and in 2009 for Zeebo.
There are 10+ playable Tekken Fighters in the game's arcade version and up to 25 on the roster in total, including eight new ones in the console version. The home version also introduced new, now-staple game modes to the series. Tekken 2 was a critical as well as commercial success, becoming one of the best-selling PlayStation games with about 40,000 arcade units and 5.7 million PlayStation copies sold worldwide. It was followed by a sequel, Tekken 3, in 1997.
