Themed Cafes in South Korea - Part 2 (VR+ Cafe & Blind Alley Cafe)

Показать описание
This is Part Two of a series I am doing called Krazy Kafes in South Korea. We started the day off in Pyeongteak at the Coffe Bay Cafe right outside of AK Plaza! We hopped on the train to Gangnam Station and took exit 1. From there it's just a right up to the first road you see from the exit. When you first walk in you are greeted with friendly staff, they do speak some English! They have a menu board with all the VR Games you can play, most cost about 5000 won. They also have a small menu of espresso drinks, ice cream, and desserts. I played the VR Zombie shooter and made it to the 3rd level before I died. The staff told me each game lasts about 15-20 min, depending on your skill. Then I sat down to enjoy a decent cafe latte. Overall the experience was fun, but I wouldn't go out of my way (again) just to come here.
From there I took the train to Sookmyung Women's University Station (Exit 10). It's a little bit of a walk from the station, but not to hard to find. You will have to pass through the tunnel and walk up a few blocks to find it. Along the way, I must have passed 20 cafe's before we found it. Once inside, you are greeted by a sleepy dog, and immediately asked if you are here for the raccoons. It' cost 6000 won to visit them, but you get a discount on your food/drinks if you do! The raccoons were all asleep when I went in, but the owner came in to wake them up to play for a bit. They are nocturnal, so it is best to visit the cafe in the late evening for the best experience! There was also a little piggy that runs around and tries to eat everything... Overall the experience was fun, and I would definitely like to come back again when the animals are more awake.
There are literally cafe's on every street corner, so if you are ever needing that extra jolt of caffeine while you are wandering the streets of Korea, you won't have to look far.
Stay tuned in for next weeks adventure as we continue our series of the Korean Cafe Culture... If you have any suggestions on where to go, be sure to leave them in the comments!
