-History:
Die Wacht am Rhein is a German patriotic song. It was at some point used by the German nations as a German anthem before the German unification of 1871. After unification, it still served as a national anthem of the German empire aside of "Heil dir im Siegerkranz". The original melody goes all the way back to 1854 and was part of many concert plays in the 1800s.
Why did the German empire have 2 anthems you may ask? Well 'Heil dir im Siegerkranz' was already the anthem of the Prussian nation before unification. The southern German states did not appreciate this song being the anthem that represents all of the German empire so together they declared 'Die Wacht am Rhein' to be the anthem of the German empire in the south. Not much later the German empire also declared 'Die Wacht am Rhein' as another anthem of their empire.

This record is from 1912, 1913 or 1914. I wasn't sure on the date nor was the guy who sold me the record. I bought this record for the song on the other side. This song was already uploaded by another user on youtube but seeing as I had the same recording but from a different record label, I desided to take a shot on making a video on it aswell.
