Andrew Schorr is recognized as a 2016 MPN Hero for his success in creating authoritative educational resources for patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) and other cancers. As president of Patient Power®, he strives to empower patients around the world with knowledge, confidence, and hope.
In this video, Andrew explains that he was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and later on with a rare blood cancer called myelofibrosis (MF). He describes how he focused his journalism skills on patient education for people with cancer. As a result, he and his wife, Esther, founded Patient Power, a patient advocacy website that helps cancer patients worldwide connect to the latest information about their condition.
