IF you want a DOUBLE FLUSH of NEW ROOTS on your phalaenopsis orchids, WATCH this video because after 3 years of reducing the pH to ensure maximum nutrients and fertilizer absorption, I have good news to share with you! How I made it happen that my example phalaenopsis schilleriana stopped dropping older leaves when she came into active root growth, or started growing a new leaf is all revealed in this update video. #fertilizer #calcium #magnesium #orchideen #orquideas #orchideenpflege #tips #beginners #tutorial

It is looking a lot better than it did a couple of years ago. Next order of business is to get the bloom count up, I want you to get the long, branching spike that is covered in blooms. Sometimes you sacrifice bloom size for the added blooms but it doesn't matter when you've got a waterfall of them.

Hola! I"m still pampering with my only phalaenopsis scilleriana bought in 2020 as a seedling Nina.First mounting failed, then I repotted it in an earthen pot in 2023.Heathy roots are there, but limping with only two leaves.I hope the plant will produce a new leaf once the extreme 38 degree Celsius day temperature comes down by around 8 degrees under the mercy of Mother Nature in the first week of March..

🦒👋👏💐 oh wow, hello gorgeous blooms !!! For some reason mine did not bloom this year. On the other hand she is growing such thick new roots. I also provided more calcium nitrate than usual to all my orchids and I was already wondering if it was the extra nitrogene off season in the calcium nitrate that inhibited the blooming of a few of my orchids 🤔 Stormy out here, strong winds, hard rain and cold. I hope you are having better conditions, amiga mia 😘😘😘😘

Congrats for this success! 🎉
Your Schilleriana looks amazing and so healthy.
Mine is still in the two leaf club, but developing a spike now. Think I'll fertilise her more, and add some calcium and magnesium too.
And watch the ph.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. ❤

Love this! I've had a seedling schilleriana, now 2 years that has survived the winter (so far) and looking good. Nice to hear the fertilizer suggestions. Prolly 2 years away from blooming. Thanks, as always.

My Phalaenopsis schilleriana is tiny! I'm hoping she puts out some nice new roots in spring and grows either more leaves or longer leaves. Yours is just awesome! ❤

Nice video! You've done a great job with yours. Beautiful leaves and blooms. Now I know why there is some improvement with mine after CalMag. I didn't know they preferred higher calcium levels. I'm going to increase the frequency. Thank you for the knowledge. 😊

Hola Ninja, qué tal, a mí me ha dado buen resultado usar el agua que sobra de la cocción de verduras, sin sal, por supuesto

Hi Nina! Omg….i have the same phal and it likes to have 2 leaves. As soon as a new one starts, one says good bye 😂. It’s a young phal so I thought it might be normal, guess not! I have been thinking about trying calcium nitrate and now I will. Thank you! And I can’t wait for your video on using new products. I’m sure it will be most informative as usual! Have a great week! ❤

Recently got the Phalaenopsis schilleriana (Luzon Philippines) two weeks ago and repotted soon after in New Zealand sphagnum moss and small bark.

I have some crushed oyster shells that I used for my paphs so maybe I still add some on top.

The PH was 4.9 before repotting and the roots were in pretty bad condition. It has four leaves now.

At the same time, I also purchased the bellina and violacea which have yellowing leaves. I hope it's not a reaction to the cold temperatures or a nutrient deficiency from being in the old, acidic moss.

They are all young plants but not seedling size. They're all growing together on the same saucer under LED lights, but I'm planning on having them in a butterfly cage in an enclosed porch during the spring/summer. The moss will dry out much faster in there.

I'm from the philippines and have a couple of schillerianas but I am not able to make them bloom for years now. I got a spike last few years but it's just a keiki spike. Currently it's growing one and I hope this is a proper flower spike now. If it turns out to be another keiki spike, I am gonna be super embarrassed HAHHAA

You done an amazing job, well done... I have a problem with humidity it is in the high 70s when cloudy but once the sun hits the room it plummets into the 20s. I get a lot of surface root burns which I put down to this. Any tips to help me with this problem? I grow indoors
