On casualties: 1) The Ukrainians have actual body armor, training, and equipment, including field medicine. 2) The Ukrainians have a skilled NCO corp that allows individual units the latitude to make choices to keep their soldiers safer. 3) The Ukrainians don't view their troops as "single use" 4) Ukrainians use satellites, drones, etc. to choose their battles wisely rather than attacking everywhere blindly. This type of casualty ratio really shouldn't be unexpected.

Came from great "Reporting from ukraine" channel...and he was right, you have quality content, too.

As a Ukrainian who's been living in Canada for a while my guess would be that it's a low balled number for obvious reasons (just like Russia does) or that is only includes the bodies of killed soldiers that have been returned to the family members.

I heard somewhere that the dead to injured ratio may be as high as 1:8 due to quick frontline medical response. So 13k dead still gives ~100k injured. Might have been a Ryan Mcbeath? Video

Those casualties numbers (dead) actually sound reasonable. 90 k versus 13 k. Russians (soviets) had 7-8 to 1 killed ratio every time they fought competent enemy.

Look, taking out infrastructure makes things for military operations very difficult ....also effects soldiers mental stability....

Wounded: Ukraine has more competent, organized, faster, caring medics, also better protective equipment, and less dangerous battles

Regarding the casualty ratio, consider the first Gulf war, which had 378 vs 25, 000 casualties. The ratio in Ukraine is plausible and may be accurate.

I think the Ukrainian numbers is for UAF only. It doesn’t include territorial defense and foreign legions losses.

Russian military seems to lack and form of sophistication with regards to recon and can’t easily identify military targets sufficiently. Civilian infrastructure is easily identified and as such about the only thing they can meaningfully target. They are being constantly outplayed on the battlefield.

Well, we need to know how Ukraine MoD calculate/count their numbers to be sure, but I expect they dont want to go for the unrealistic low number nor the truthfull number. Neither will they be caught in an all out lie, in the aftermath.

So I presume Ukraine only COUNT confirmed deaths, and dont estimate the fog of war numbers, unlike the US model of an mathematical/algorithm, that takes known and estimated unknown factors into play. This way Ukraine gives us a real number, but not the more realistic. They can also delay the real number, we dont know if the number they gave was to this date or prior to the Bahkmut escalation/Kherson offencive. The former comment of Ukraine MoD only gives us the UAF number is also very very likely.

This is done to keep moral up, and they can always explain their numbers and say state it wasnt a lie or up to date.

So while the US number is based on previous war data, along with russian estimated numbers and all other relevant data. Their algorythm shows this high number, contrary to Ukraines. This way of estimating have sure benefits, but it can also not align with how the Ukraine/russia war is progressing, and this war needs its own algoritm to be more precise.

In my own personal opinion, having a YT General background or not.. I think the Ukraine numbers of deaths is in the top 30k and lower 20k. Why, because of the numerous eye witness saying that russia attacks in a way that doesnt care for how many they lose. In general a 3 to 1 ratio is correct, but when you have with a enemy that doesnt care. A more real estimate is 4/5 to 1.

As the true death and injured pile up in Russia, Russia bleeds strength.
The people will know in the end.
The Russian people will pay.

Given that it's Russia they might have indiscriminately attacked it's civilians in ww2 to kick the Germans out.

The number may have come from a report of just actual Ukraine army and not the foreign brigades or even the Ukrainian volunteers.

Russ wounded; comrades care less, commanders care even less, bring your tampons?? Reckless attacks, little protective equipment, alcohol, soo lilled to wounded about 1 to 3

For the casualties it's important to remember, just in terms of artillery, Ukraine has less ammunition available but it is highly effective so they fire less rounds but make each one count. They also combine it with troop movements and recon so their soldiers are able to advance with close fire support. Russian artillery its pretty much spray and pray mentality and generally fires wildly on Ukrainian positions then moves troops without direct fire support. Russias hybrid volunteer system of a small number of professional troops with massive numbers of untrained conscripts makes them pretty combat ineffective. It's hard to say how accurate the numbers are but I definitely belive Russian losses are many magnitudes more than Ukraines

Why: just because they can do, they don’t fucking care about anything
