Having to get 69 Scooby-Doo snacks in the first level was their way of saying "get fucked"

I'm no ASL expert, but your sign language caught my eye as you were saying the lines (because my brain recognized your words matched your movements and automatically thought "huh, I wonder if he knew that was sign language" before you immediately said you were learning). You're doing well, keep at it!

I love speedrunning in general, but speedruns of obscure and/or licensed games are especially interesting to me, usually because they're the most busted games ever and watching people break games wide open is really fun.

"Find a game no one else has ever played"

I feel called out, I actually did that for several games about 12 years ago, including Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights which I held for two and a half years until someone else attempted it.

I love how well your “Yes!” and “Woo!” synced up with the music.

3DS: Oh, you haven't charged me in the last 4 hours? Shutting down!
DS: Oh, you haven't charged me in the last 10 years? Sorry, I'm only at 80% battery now!

I love that Scott managed to have two who videos go so wildly beyond their original scope, he had to make a third one about speed-running.

The best thing about thr NerdSync notification is that you never know what hyperfocus its going to trigger.

Grats on the records Scott!

Wow, I can't believe we're both world record holders for speedruns in games that are equally difficult

After so many years, you are still one of the few YouTubers that legitimately makes me laugh out loud. Thank you for the endorphins. You have (in my personal opinion) a wonderful sense of humor.

I give much respect to speed runners. They play a game thousands of times, if not tens of thousands to practice shaving off a few seconds. There is mad skill in that. I remember watching a GDQ several years ago - which might have been years old at the time - of a speed runner playing Dragon Age: Origins. The player was playing a Japanese version of the game, as it has shorter cut scene times. The commentator asked the speed runner a question. I dont remember exactly why. I think a major plot twist happened in the game at that point and the commentator asked what the runner thought of it. The speed runner said, he doesnt know what he was talking about, as he never actually played the game as intended. Speed runners are a strange bunch of people.

Fun Fact: I once got a bootleg copy of this game that claimed to be a Game Boy Color version (which obvs doesn’t exist, but 9yo me didn’t know any better), but it was actually just a copy of Scooby-Doo: Classic Creep Capers for GBC, and I ended up playing it and completing it. It was a kinda weird game with a creepy vibe and I don’t have too many fond memories of it because I only played it once (maybe this game could be your next speed-run). It was interesting how the box design was so convincing that this was supposed to be a GBC version of Cyber Chade, and I have to admit that I was disappointed that it wasn’t the game I thought it was gonna be. Lastly, I did play the PS1 version of Cyber Chase, made it to the final level, but never finished because it was too hard for me.

This kind of speedrun is actually used in Banjo-Kazooie (a game with Saves). there is glitch where you have an almost completed run of the game and then you load a new game and it starts off with all your moves and upgrades.

runs like this are entirely valid.

Now you can do the advance hard version: that Clue game with the same idea of immediately choosing the culprit
