System programming= Low level
App programming= High level language
Before the advent of C language, Assembly L was used to write both. But then comes the C, it was written for Unix OS.
The main crux of difference bw Assembly language and any other languages after that(including C), is that with Assembly you can have full(100%) control over Hardwares for which you're writing that code.
But why C got so famous ?
Ans - Bcoz of portability.
Assembly language fails to support even 1 small component in system has been changed to a different specification.
