Born from the encounter between the French-Syrian singer Climène Zarkan and the guitarist Baptiste Ferrandis, Sarāb ('mirage' in Arabic) quickly became a sextet, taking the pulse of the world and pursuing its spellbinding explorations between contemporary jazz with rock energy and traditional Arabic music. With their second album 'Arwāh Hurra' (released in November 2021), which means free souls, the group puts "the poetry and rhythm of the Arabic and French languages in parallel". Each member of the sextet contributes with its own precious stone to this singular edifice of rich and abundant imagination that is Sarāb. Sarāb plays between tradition and today's sounds, samples and other effects, with boundless energy and a curiosity without borders to engage on the grounds of love, feminism, the future of our planet or the fear of the foreigner.
