Anyone who plays an instrument knows that if you struggle to play a part of a song, you will be way more consistent after a break or sleep

I often work a full 8 hours without taking my 15 minute breaks because it feels like they derail me. Those days are ALWAYS the least productive LOL

That's why the solution to a problem "comes to you" ad Soon as you stop worrying, isn't it?

I’ve always done this without realizing why. It just felt like my brain needed a break to stay focused and continue working

In the 1980s we students were taught to randomly "rest our eyes" by looking at a distant object for 10 seconds, while thinking nothing in particular.
who knew?

Horses are like that also!! When you have a young horse learning something and you give them a break when they are in training they will almost 100% of the time come back from the break better understand what your asking them to do!!!! Very cool!! In that break the human is also processing what’s being asked, so after the break the human is probably asking the horse in a clearer way for the horse to understand…..🤯🤯❤

I have noticed better results from practicing my instrument when I take small breaks from whatever element I'm working on and then returning to it.

I literally learned algebra in my sleep after crying myself to sleep because I couldn't figure out how to do my homework. This was when the curriculum in math went to adding letters in pre- algebra. I thought it was crazy and now I see what happened ❤️

Is that y I remember so much?
I always did really well in college. I'd study my notes. My ADHD kick in I'd daydream for a moment then go back to studying.

I used this method all through grade school to help me get through tough problems and had no idea why it worked so well. So thanks.

Does anyone know what the intervals are, for these ‘micro resets’?

That's exactly what I'm doing when studying, I noticed how I could perfectly memorize entire pages and pages but then forget most things if I changed "chapter".

So I started pausing after the repetitions and now I learn way better. Now I know why it works this way

This is why, when practicing fast paced videogames, I always recommend taking breaks every so often.
