How to change Windows Updates download folder location

Running out of storage space is nothing new. Most of us have access to the internet and keep downloading stuff. Then there are games, which can occupy a lot of storage space. The biggest problem arrives when you run out of storage space on your Windows Installation drive, which is usually the C drive, and the updates stop downloading.

Windows OS doesn’t offer you an option to change the download location of the updates. This post will teach us to change the Windows 11/10 Updates download location.

is it possible to use this to send windows updates to an intentionally "too small" secondary partition to prevent windows 10 from updating successfully at all?

Thank you, now I know how to completely stop updates. I set it for a drive and folder that doesn't exist or that I can remover so they can't be installed

Great now when i try to update windows it says update error and I don’t know how to reverse it
