You're soooo right, the brand could've possibly not really killed yi but at least stun him when he and yi were in the bush.

@Kirito Sao In the current version of the game your best bet for items on master yi are attack speed and crit items. I'm fairly certain Statik Shiv is a must have item.  If you are jungling him (which you should be)  go for wriggles lantern.  I personally prefer to grab a frozen mallet and a triforce on him to guarantee you stick to your opponent.
