The difference between Toph and Kuvira is similar to the difference between Iroh and Azula. Kuvira and Azula are prodigies in their respective element, but Iroh and Toph are actual geniuses, because they have a massively deep and pure understanding of their elements. They create new skills e.g redirecting lightning and metalbending. They also learnt their bending by the original benders of their respective elements (the dragons and the badger moles).

The ability to bend earth and metal back into it original shape without any cracks or marks is so cool to me

We All Know that Korra only lost to Kuvira because of the trauma, later she was able to fight balanced with Kuvira, if it were the Korra of the third season in that fight, Kuvira would have lost without Korra having to enter the Avatar state.

No matter what argument it is, if it's about earthbending, Toph will always be number one.

Kuvira might not be the best, but she presents the most beautiful high-speed metalbending moves.

Kuvira is precise, quick, and effective. No flashy potato attacks.
Toph is the OG, she is the most powerful but also the oldest by the time Korra exists.
Su-Yin is artistic and open-minded but gentle, Lin is rigid and traditional.
Korra just combined the technique with movement styles and psychologies from other 4 elements.

Korra was not her full self when fighting Kuvira at their first battle

People love to underestimate Kuvira. They use Korra's trauma as an excuse but when Kuvira was fighting Korra that time Kuvira wasn't even trying. The second time Kuvira fought Korra, she got just as many hits in as Korra did while Korra had access to 2 elements and metalbending, while Kuvira only had access metal bending.

I wouldn’t say Korra is better then Su and Lin at metal bending earth bending maybe
But metal bending you see Lin lead and beat thugs with her metal bending police force
And Su with her family and team made a whole city made of metal

The fact the thumbnail says Lin is the weakest metalbender is just nah, if she was she wouldn't be a cheif of police

I like how even though Lin > Suyin in the Earthbending rankings, Suyin > Lin in the Metalbending rankings.
And it makes sense, I think.

I never noticed how similar The Dark One (One of Toph’s Metalbending Students in the ATLA comics, he and his peers are on this list) and Huan are. Both are artistic Metalbenders, among other things

I would’ve put Suyin above Korra and Lin. When she jumps on that tank, spins that sheet of metal and then forms it around herself, that just left me breathless. She also uses the metal cuffing technique that Kuvira uses.

Kuvira might be the closest we’ll ever get to Azula in LOK

Korra didn't use all 4 elements in either of her fights with Kuvira. I'm sure Katara probably taught her how to draw water from the air for fighting, but she never used waterbending against Kuvira directly, just against her giant mecha. Might have ended the fights faster if she had.
