God Killed My Old Man | New Identity | Episode 2

In the second episode of "God Killed My Old Man," Duane Sheriff teaches the importance of understanding our new identity in Christ. It is vital to grasp the concept that our previous old sinful nature died with Christ, and now we are raised to new life in Him.

Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." This verse illustrates how our old self has died, and we now live through Christ's life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." This transformation occurs in our spirit while our soul and body are still in the process of renewal.

We have a three-part nature - spirit, soul, and body - as described in 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Our spirit is instantly transformed at salvation. In contrast, our soul (mind, will, and emotions) is being renewed, and our body will be fully redeemed at Christ's return. Set your mind on things above because you have died with Christ, and your life is now hidden with Him. #god #identityinchrist #spirit
