I played on an album that Kim did in America in 1977. We did the song "This is my Life" on that album. The album was called Kim Larsen & Yankee Drengene. The version he sang back then was a lot more upbeat with a bit more energy as you would expect during his younger years. I loved working with Kim. I was fortunate enough to have him and his traveling companions come to my house for a cookout and he really enjoyed our southern cooking. He was the nicest boss in the world. He knew how he wanted to make it sound and had no problem directing the flow of the sessions to get his sound. He really liked getting things done on the first take and wouldn't let you go back to re-record it. He wanted his music to sound natural and not over rehearsed. I never saw him again after the album - it's really interesting to see his life history now

A true legend in Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia. A man who sold almost as many records as Denmarks entire population, and had perhaps more than 50 big hit songs. The only artist I know where an entire country's population have as much of a sense of ownership over the songs as the artist himself. Kept playing to the end, until cancer took him from us.

When he sang this song he was terminal sick from prostate cancer. He died short after but he was a musical hero for us Danes for many years. God bless him.

Kim Larsen is a national treasure here in Denmark. He made so many great songs throughout his career.
He died in 2018 and there were mourning processions throughout Denmark where people sang his beloved songs.
He lived in Odense where I was born and also where the famous author Hans Christian Andersen was born. He wrote many famous fairytales like The ugly duckling and The emperors new clothes.
At every football (soccer) match in Odense they play the song Kim wrote about our town called Her I Odense (Here in Odense). The first match after his death was a moving experience where we all stood up and sang along.

One of my favorite artists ever. I morned for months after he died, it really affected me deeply. I´m from Sweden, but with roots in Denmark as well.

Oh I went to a concert with him at the end of his life, he's amazing and everybody fro 1-100 years old love him. the greatest sing a song writer in Denmark, you should check out Gasoline, who were the biggest band in Denmark and we still listen to them, everybody loves them

This almost seems like his final goodbye..😢 The slow tempo, him sitting down, weak and frail but still with this powerful voice. Amazing🌺 I grew up with Kim Larsen's music as my dad used to put it on all the time and especially when we went on summer holidays in Denmark which we did throughout the 80's. His music is a big part of the soundtrack of my childhood. ❤ from Norway

I went to school with Kim's nephew and even played in our own band together.
We never wanted anything from the old guys because it's not what it's about. Stay real, be yourself, and enjoy your kids are doing well.
