How to Make Potting Soil Mix Your Seedlings Will Root For!

In this video, I show you how to make potting soil to start seeds and grow seedlings indoors. Making your own potting mix is super easy and simple, and this potting soil recipe will make your seedlings thrive!

If you're wondering how to make potting soil for indoor plants, this easy tutorial has got you covered. This is the potting soil recipe I use every year, and I have had great success with my seedlings. This may even be the best potting soil for growing seedlings and container gardening!

My Potting Soil Recipe:
Two different bags of moisture control potting soil - This year I am using:

Note: You do not need the same brands. Any brand of perlite and vermiculite will be fine, and for the potting soil, use almost any bag labelled 'potting soil' or 'potting mix' that is lightweight and contains peat moss and perlite. I do not use designated 'seed-starting' potting mixes.

Lucas do you add any micro or bone or fish meal to you mix or worm castings

For seedling Pot soil I recommend to mix in organic cinnamon powder as it kills pathogens that might harm the sprouts/seedlings.

My mom taught us years ago to amend our soil with peat moss, perlite and vermiculite. Every year we'd get that and work it in - even outside. We had great soil. Sometimes the best advice doesn't change.

The only thing is that we've learned vermiculite can have asbestos in it. Don't know if that's still true but I would be cautious.
