Well this is my best Steve Gadd impression on this song. I played it how I heard it. I didn’t go to the written chart … available on the internet somewhere. If I had I would have played the ride and Tom thing in the verse. But hey, sue me! 😁 There Is something about using you hear to learn and works for me. Also, the SG spirit Is In my playing for sure! I used my Steve Gadd signature drumsticks for this video! 😁

Now i tried to catch that very slinky feel here and I think I got that vibe. But you will let me know! Also I’lll never get the Steve Gadd fills exact! But I had fun trying!

Enjoy today’s cover my friends! Happy Sunday!

That double on the HH then double on snare thing to kick the band back in after Rikki's solo singing was really cool. Had to rewind and check it out a few times. Great job.

Nice throwback! Really smooth drumming and I like the hihat/snare roll groove! Never paid much attention to the drumming on this song before but you brought it to the forefront! 👏

I think of covers as, "How would I play this if this artist called me up." I don't have this drum part memorized at all, but I think you captured the vibe nicely. "Play what you feel brother". Well that's what Clyde said to me.

Fantastic! YOU cover it the way YOU feel it, right? Loved it! Very nice and silky!

Earl, you captured that Gadd laid back feel perfectly- more important than playing exactly what he played IMO. This song has to be played with a back beat WAY behind for it to feel good, and you couldn't have done it better! Awesome!
