Today we are testing out 4 epic air conditions

We cover air conditioners stats as follows:
Air outlet temperature, air exhaust temperature, plug temperature, and room temperature after 30 minutes on high from ambient.

Stay tuned, in my next video I cover how we mounted this behemoth in our window seal!

The only video I’ve seen with useful information. Great job.

Spectacular review. My favorite part was the db measurements.

I just want to make a small observation, regarding the portable air conditioners and I have seen an improvement if it is placed in a higher area than having it at low levels close to the ground, and the other is to place an insulation sleeve on the hose that goes out, there is a noticeable difference in terms of efficiency.

the reason for the portables running the plug temp up is the molded plug on your appliance extension cord. the gfci on all of them provides a far better internal connection and doesnt heat up, the fridgidare uses the same amount of power as the whynter as they are the same capacity.

So just to clarify and provide some educational info as an A/C tech, the thermostat on a portable A/C is not a temperature gauge it does not control how cold the unit blows. This actually goes for any A/C if you set the thermostat on a central HVAC system to 65⁰ that's not going to make it blow 65⁰ all the thermostat does is turn the unit off when the desired temperature is reached (or in the case of portable A/C systems the thermostat turns the compressor off once the desired temperature is reached. And the BTU rating of an A/C is not just a measure of how cold the A/C blows, if you get an A/C that provides more BTU's of cooling than the room requires it will short cycle and not cool the room at all

Very helpful considering blowing fuses is a big concern so I'll be getting a window unit now. Thanks!

Very informative and good testing. Wall unit looks like the winner. You have enough a/c to make your house like the North Pole? Maybe time for a giveaway?

Nothing beats a window unit for price and cooling..And you can take a window unit to anybody for cleaning and repair..

Very nice and informative. Window ac is just plain better. Still wish it didn't hang out the Window lol 😂.

I know what I need to do. My central heating and air went out, naturally on a Saturday night and I need window units to keep my aging parent that I need to take care, safely cool until the main system is fixed.

I see the ugly winter unit. Bought one because it claims to put out15, 000 btu. That would do very well for my living room. It never cooled much at all, had the hoses connected and placed in the window as it’s supposed to be. Thought the unit was faulty so I returned it for an exchange. No difference. Took the unit to get it checked, found out these are way way over rated, tech told me there’s only enough coil for 5, 000 btu s. After a year I ended up putting it out by the trash. Put my 10, 000 btu window unit back in. Never again do I want another portable.

Dual hose would have been a more fair comparison.

Thats because of humidity, it's hard to cool a humid room.

I have an issue: I live in a condo and downstairs there’s only a sliding patio door. Or the sliding windows only one can come out it looks like only one of them comes out only so there’s only a width of 14inches.

So my option is put the ac on the ground and buy some foam insulation and build a massive blocker and lose some access to my outside patio (I’m on the second floor). Or find an AC unit that blows out the right. Mount the AC outside the window so it’ll be partly sucking in my living room air partly the hot summer air and seal it well.

Any thoughts?
