What If You Fell Into a Mercury Pool?

Показать описание
The fact that mercury is incredibly dangerous today even children know. But it was not always so. Until the middle of the last century, people took mercury as a cure for many diseases. Fortunately, those days are over. And today you need to be extremely careful when working with this metal. What happens if a drop of mercury gets on the skin? No, that's even better. What if you dive into a pool of mercury?

Again, you got elemental mercury confused with dimethyl mercury or other organic compounds. Mercury itself isn't poisonous, however it is very hard for your body to get rid of it once it's in, which can cause problems down the line. However, you would need to be exposed to mercury vapor on a regular basis to get any negative effects. Organic mercury compounds on the other hand are a different story, and you seem to be talking about both at the same time. You said a few drops could kill you if you touch it, but that's not true, because I have worked with mercury before and touched it, and I'm fine. In short, you have confused elemental mercury for organic mercury

Edit: I would like to correct myself, mercury IS poisonus, but in its liquid phase its relatively harmless, unless it gets into an open wound or you literally take a bath in it. Mercury does, however, fume a lot, which can be seen using a black light. These fumes are dangerous if inhaled repeatedly over the course of your life. But playing with it occasionally while following safety guidelines is pretty much fine. This video is still bs though

Moral of the story: Diving into the pool of mercury will lead to a swim in blood.

I had 14 mercury amalgam fillings installed in my teeth between the ages of 10 and 14. I had an immediate violent reaction and thought I was going to die. It destroyed my school years and l went from being a high flyer to the class dunce failing all my exams. Today as an old man I've had a rough time finding work. I suffered about 20 illnesses some life-threatening. I still suffer today although l got rid of the toxic fillings 20 years ago. My hands have little feeling in them causing me to constantly drop things. My life has been ruined by mercury poisoning but the dental profession refuses to admit any responsibility.
