HOW TO Stain WOOD Floor | DIY | Stain Sticky |Solutions

How to fix a sticky wood stain. We were told to strip it down and retain it. But this solution came up to my mind and I just thought I'd give it a try.

Can we see your final floor looked like? I think I messed up my front door. 24hrs still tacky not dry. I did not wipe mine off either. I just kinda painted with one layer.

This gave me the worst anxiety lol never ever stain floors like this, that’s why they look like tootsie roll logs. Prep work is key. Clean, sand going in the direction of the grain then work in sections and apply THIN coats of stain. Wipe off excess within 1-2 minutes of initial application. Wait a day or two then poly over with the same base as stain. Voila.
