Dorian talks to Tony about how genomic technologies are advancing the prediction of performance and growth in cattle through DNA, and the benefits beyond physical recording methods.
He explains the 50K DNA SNP chip and how cattle breeders can use the predictions, the cost & time saving it provides and when is the right time to invest in DNA.
Dorian explains how dairy's uptake of DNA has been advantageous and how they have been studying six generations of chicken's DNA to understand the accuracy of the technology in cattle.
