Kjelle is at least notable because she is the earliest armor unit you can recruit in the game. It’s still weird that Gen 1 didn’t have any armors in awakening.

For Fates I'd argue it's Yukimura, not just because he's a forgettable character, but because it's easy to forget he's playable. It's bad enough being locked behind specific castle upgrades, but he gets the worst of it. Flora and Izana are available in two routes each, meanwhile Fuga is a strong unit in a route full of units with horrible bases. Yukimura, meanwhile, is only available in Birthright and is really unremarkable in combat. Even child units like Hisame and Ignatius are at least directly tied to someone already in your army. All the men in Fates have a child, and if you go through each one, you'll find their child. Yukimura has an obscure recruitment method, is weak in combat, can ONLY support with Corrin, and is only available in one route, which isn't even the golden route.

As for Awakening, I was gonna suggest an armor knight, but aside from Kjelle no one comes to mind...

Gilbert is very forgettable if you're Golden Deer or Black Eagles due to being unplayable. This is true. But he's actually unforgettable in Blue Lions for one reason: the game makes you think Dedue is gone for good (which he can be if you either didn't do his paralogue, or failed to save enough Duscur troops during it) so they give you Gilbert to replace him. A lot of people (at least at launch), really liked, even loved, Dedue. So to seemingly kill him off screen, only to replace him with Deadbeat Dad of the Millenium is a pretty big deal a lot of players will never forget, meaning Gilbert as well will never be forgotten.

Lindon is a real one, his supports revolve around wanting to cast thunder on people. Being a misable red unit recruit is actually notable in a game, and an era, that so heavily lacks them.

The thing about Gilbert, he appears very often in the monastary and is a very notable green unit in the lance of ruin chapter, and i think those things would push him as more memorable than someone like jeritza, who is kinda just hiding in the monastery until he disappears to do death knight shenanigans

Alright so I am gonna be honest. I forgot there was any armored units playable in Awakening, and thought that it was odd. Then I remembered Kjelle, and said but thats a child unit, was there really no armored units in the Shepherds?

just a small nitpick, kjelle was added to heroes far before laurent was, kjelle being added in june of 2019 and laurent being added december of 2023. but absolutely great video as a whole, very entertaining (and i did not remember 90% of these characters existed)

I remember Saphir mainly because she is one of the few old woman units in the series. Another reason I remember her is because of her ridiculous age that was apparently datamined. She can't be 35, she looks possibly older than Lindon to me.

The thing I find really funny about Laurent and Kjelle is they're actually some of the child units that are actually feasible to use on no grinding runs cause their paralouges are relatively easy compared to the other ones.

I'd argue for syrene in sacred stones. Joins late, not a super interesting character, missable recruit, and a mid unit

Small correction, but Path of Radiance had 2 characters who weren't playable in Radiant Dawn. Largo, who you mentioned, and the lovable Devdan, who completely dropped off the face of Tellius in-between games, only mentioned once in Radiant Dawn when recruiting the lovable Danved.

I would argue that another Fates child unit is far more forgettable than Ignatius. Ignatius at least has the benefit of being the son of a unit people have probably actually considered using, and him being a big scaredy-cat while having a monster face is at least... something.

Let me ask you this; would you like to invest into a bulky Myrmidon? A Myrmidon, might I add, who's competition is Hana and *Ryoma?* And would you like to put enough investment into this Middle Child of a unit for him to get an S Support?
If for some insane reason you answered "yes, " then boy oh boy do I have a treat for you; a FOURTH Myrmidon!

May I present my argument for the most forgettable unit in Fates; Hisame. Hisame is the *fourth* available Myrmidon in a route where one of them is so much better than the others that he can almost solo the game on his own at lower difficulties. He's also the son of who's by far the worst between the first three options. And to top it all off, Hisame basically has zero personality whatsoever.

Hisame's personality, at least in the English localization, is that he's a stern, serious young man who doesn't make jokes, and spends most of his time training. Sound boring yet? Well the writers decided to spice it up by making him into... pickles. Yep, he has so little going on that half the stuff that comes out of his mouth is about pickles.

But what if I told you that Hisame liking pickles is actually a bit of a mistranslation? Because apparently, in the direct Japanese translation, he isn't into pickles, he's actually into *pickling.* His sole hobby is just... filling jars with vinegar, putting vegetables in it, and just fucking waiting. The reason for this is because, due to being written as the polar opposite of his dad, Hisame in the Japanese version of Fates is actually written as if he was a grouchy old man. This is why he has such an annoyed expression in his default art. And he likes pickling because, from what I understand, the act of pickling is a hobby in Japan that's stereotypically done by the elderly. Hisame is a man in his late teens to early 20s who you can genuinely describe as curmudgeonly. And since Hinata is almost a frat boy in how much he loves having a good time, Hisame in contrast is the biggest buzzkill in Hoshido.

That's right, Hisame's entire character and defining personality trait is that *HE'S FUCKING BORING.*

While Kjelle isn’t very memorable as a character to many players, no way she is more forgettable than Laurent. For many other players, Kjelle was the daughter of Chrom and sister of Lucina. That easily puts her way above Laurent.
