Experiment of the Month - October 2018
Chemical Waves
A very famous oscillating reaction is the so-called Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction (in short BZ reaction), the catalyzed reaction between malonic acid and bromate. Often the experiment is carried out by using a well-stirred reacting solution in a beaker. But what happens if the solution is poured into a Petri dish and the thin layer remains undisturbed? Have a look at the following video!
