Very helpful for us. We cruise to Alaska in June and have picked out some things to do. Should be fun! Thanks!

Timbers is an awesome place to dine! Be sure to ask for the Mendenhall Glacier for children (I wish I had a photo of mine, the drink is a beauty to behold, as it looks like a glacier!) and the ice worm cocktail for adults! Ask the seasoned locals about the Ice worm cocktail legend and becoming a sourdough!!!

This is a nice video but sadly it glosses over the Lingit History who used this area as a summer fish camp for eons. The Lingit called it Kichx’aan (Kitschk-an). There’s Totem Bight Park that has a Tribal house (briefly on screen) or visit Saxman just a few minutes from downtown for more Totem poles and tour the carving center. The Museum also downtown is a must and the fish hatchery are what I’d do versus some of the tourist traps.

I was stationed on Annette island back in the early 2000s to build a 16 mile road from the little fishing village to the other end of the island. I was in the navy.I like Ketchikan it’s full of culture and history. I wonder what ever happened to our base camp? Did they turn it into a fishing village for tourists?is steamers stop their it’s on the second level of one of the buildings on the water?

This is very informative. I was a tour guide for 2 summers here, and most are cool things to do. The oyster farm must be new, I don't recall it there, and may be worth a trip back to Great video Thank you
